It finally arrived! It has been four tiring/frustrating/etc months since our last vacation and we were looking forward to getting away from it all. This time, we were heading south to the Caribbean with our friends, the Tromeurs, for a week on the French island of Guadeloupe. It was really the perfect destination for all of us. For the Tromeurs, it was the excitement of going to an exotic destination dreamed of by the French (kind of like how Americans dream of visiting Hawaii). For us, it promised to be another adventure to a destination that wasn’t over-run by huge volumes of tourists, that still had its native charm, not a version of what some corporations thought Americans would like! |
