Today started off slowly and then kind of rushed forward to a late evening.  Like yesterday, we started off with some quiet time at the resort, this time having muffins and croissants in our room and then staying up in our room with me, Kathie, and Kelley reading in the sitting area or on the balcony while Victoria watched Kim Possible on my laptop.  Around 11:00, we headed over to Baie Nettle in the French Side to a restaurant recommended by Charlotte, our hostess last night at Sol e Luna.  Unfortunately, it wasn't opened for lunch so we decided to head back over to Grand Case to choose from the 20+ restaurants there.  We ended up back at TasteVin, where we had had dinner several nights before.  Like Tuesday night, it was fabulous - Kelley went back to her filet du beouf, Kathie had pork tenderloin that was just scrumptious, and I had a tuna sushi salad - MMMMM!!!  Our only problem was making sure we were out of their by 1:45!

Playing In The Surf At Grand Case

The reason for that is that at 2:00, we had reservations to go on a short cruise on the Seaworld Explorer X.  On the surface, this just looks like your basic party barge.  But once you get out around one of the reefs, though, everybody goes below where the entire hull is a collection of plate glass windows.  One of the crewmembers then jumps in and starts a feeding frenzy among the fish - quite memorable!  Each of us had our favorites, especially Victoria loving the fish like Dori on Finding Nemo™ and me seeing a barracuda that was probably about five feet long just floating stationary above the reef like the Lord Of The Manor!  The only downside is that both Kathie and Kelley started feeling seasick from the motion of the boat.  (NOTE - this is definitely not for you if you suffer from motion sickness).  Fortunately, by the time it started getting really bad for them, it was time to return to the upper deck and (more importantly) fresh air.

After a little shopping in Grand Case, we headed back to the Divi for some more down time.  This was especially important as it turns out Victoria was completely exhausted.  She slept for most of the 30-minute drive home, all the time she was carried upstairs, and then for about 90 minutes before we woke her up for dinner.

Come dinnertime, we all piled back into our car and made the drive back to Grand Case for dinner at La Cottage, on the recommendation of our waiter at Sol e Luna.  The drive was a bit nerve-wracking as I opted to take the physically shorter, but busier traffic route, which turned a 25-minute ride into a 75-minute ride.  We finally arrived at the restaurant around 7:15 (we had 6:30 reservations), but our apologies for being late were waved off as "no big deal!"  How was dinner?  Well, we came to mixed results.  Much of the meal was fantastic (my lobster ravioli was incredible, even to Kathie who doesn't like lobster), and the service was very prompt, but was delivered in very much the manner of the stereotypical French waiter.  (e.g. - I was gushing my excitement over the ravioli and the waiter's response SEEMED to be "thank you for acknowledging the obvious, I guess you have decent taste in food after all).  Bottom line, would I go back there?  Probably not, but only because there are SO many other great restaurants on the island.  Would I recommend it to someone else?  Yes, but with a warning about the service being prompt, but a bit cold/arrogant.
