After a little shopping in Grand Case, we headed back to the Divi for some more down time. This was especially important as it turns out Victoria was completely exhausted. She slept for most of the 30-minute drive home, all the time she was carried upstairs, and then for about 90 minutes before we woke her up for dinner.
Come dinnertime, we all piled back into our car and made the drive back to Grand Case for dinner at La Cottage, on the recommendation of our waiter at Sol e Luna. The drive was a bit nerve-wracking as I opted to take the physically shorter, but busier traffic route, which turned a 25-minute ride into a 75-minute ride. We finally arrived at the restaurant around 7:15 (we had 6:30 reservations), but our apologies for being late were waved off as "no big deal!" How was dinner? Well, we came to mixed results. Much of the meal was fantastic (my lobster ravioli was incredible, even to Kathie who doesn't like lobster), and the service was very prompt, but was delivered in very much the manner of the stereotypical French waiter. (e.g. - I was gushing my excitement over the ravioli and the waiter's response SEEMED to be "thank you for acknowledging the obvious, I guess you have decent taste in food after all). Bottom line, would I go back there? Probably not, but only because there are SO many other great restaurants on the island. Would I recommend it to someone else? Yes, but with a warning about the service being prompt, but a bit cold/arrogant.
