We decided to head back Freundestadt for the day as their bi-weekly market was being held today (as well as Tuesdays).  We had had such a great time at the market in Ribeauvillé that we figured it was worth a shot (as it is one of the largest in Germany).  It was a little disappointing, though, as it was entirely produce, meats, cheeses, and flowers - awesome for the locals, but not much for us in the line of what we had seen in Alsace.  We did some more shopping in some of the area shops and got some awesome clothes for Victoria.  After grabbing a bite to eat, though, Victoria was absolutely itching to go play in the fountains again.  Unlike Tuesday when we were there, this was the ideal day for it as the clouds had gone away (apparently Freundestadt is one of the sunniest towns in Germany, contrary to our experience!) and it was a beautiful, warm afternoon.  Victoria quickly put on her bathing suit and went running in the water fountain, first with me, then with Kelley.

After about thirty minutes, a little German girl about Victoria's age and her little brother came by with their mother and wanted to play in the water with Victoria as well.  Well, they didn't have their bathing suits with them, so VOILA - it's nekkid* time!  Victoria and this little girl spent the next hour or so running around in the fountain, sometimes with Kelley, sometimes with just the two of them hand-in-hand.  Despite the little girl not speaking any English and Victoria not speaking any German, they spent the entire time gabbing and giggling away like they had been friends for years!  Absolutely adorable!

* nekkid means you don't have any clothes on and you're up to something!  :-)

After spending about 30 minutes convincing Victoria that she really WAS freezing and that it was time to leave, we headed back to Hundsbach for some quiet time before dinner.  The days of constant go-go-go- were catching up with us!  Kelley and Kathie both crashed, while Victoria played with some of her new Legos and I read a book on the balcony of the house and just absorbed the fantastic atmosphere of the Black Forest!

Around 4:30, we made our way back to Schwarzenberg to feed the ducks their dinner before heading on to the hotel in Huzenbach where we had dinner last night.  We had quickly become regulars - Laub, our server, had everything all set up for us (she had even found one of Victoria's legos from the night before and had it set by her place!) and some of the locals greeted as they came in.  Kathie and I had some fantastic Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) from Baden with our meal - so good that we made arrangements with the owner's son to get us half a case to pick up the next day!  As we had the previous night, we left feeling like stuffed piggies!
