This was to be our last vacation before the arrival of our first child in May.  Travel has always been a very big part of our lives and we wanted to be sure to do something special for our last vacation before the birth as it would be a couple of years before we were ready to come back over to Europe for vacation.  Although I had been to Paris before on business, this was my wife's first trip and my first as a tourist.  Planning and preparation was quite challenging in that we had a lot we wanted to see in our eight days in Paris, but we had to balance it with the reality of a pregnant wife.
