Located across the river in Niagara Falls, NY, the Aquarium of Niagara displays more than 1,500 aquatic animals ranging from the Great Lakes to the coral reefs and is home to the state's largest collection of Great Lakes Fish. Visitors can see California sea lions, sharks, piranha, river otters and more. Highlights include a colony of endangered Peruvian penguins and an outdoor harbor seal pool. The penguins are fed daily at 9:30 and 2:30, the seals at 11 and 3:45; sharks and otters are fed on alternate days at 11:30. The aquarium is the site of the 81st "Whaling Wall" by environmental marinelife artist Wyland.

The Cave of the Winds Trip on Goat Island follows wooden walkways to within 25 feet of the base of the falls. An elevator takes visitors 175 feet through the Niagara rock escarpment to view the falls from the bottom. Allow 1 hour minimum.

The Falls Incline Railway is located next to the Table Rock Complex and operates twin cable-rail cars between the Minolta Tower Centre and Table Rock Complex areas.

Floral Clock at the Sir Adam Beck-Niagara Generating Station. is one of the world's largest floral clocks. Approximately 19,000 plants that bloom from early spring to the first frost compose the 12-metre (40-foot) in diameter clock. Westminster chimes ring every 15 minutes.

Marineland is best known for its marine shows, which feature killer whales, dolphins and sea lions. There also are an aquarium and wildlife displays with bears, elk and buffaloes and a deer petting park. At the interactive Killer Whale Habitat visitors can touch a whale. Several rides are available, including Dragon Mountain, a large steel roller coaster. A few children's rides also are available. Show times vary according to the season.

The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is on the Niagara Pkwy. on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens and is home to some 2,000 butterflies. Waterfalls and various flora line the pathways throughout the conservatory. More than 120 butterfly species can be observed in a native butterfly garden outside the conservatory.

The Niagara Parks Commission Greenhouses are 1/4 mile south of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls in Ontario and have seasonal displays of local flowers and foliage, palm trees, more than 75 tropical birds and other tropical plants. There also is an outdoor fragrance garden for the visually impaired. Particularly noteworthy is the Chrysanthemum Show held in November.

The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is the home of the Niagara Park School of Horticulture, reputedly the only residential school in Canada for apprentice gardeners. Floral displays and gardens, including 2,300 varieties of roses, are on the 40-hectare (99-acre) campus.

The Museum encourages youngsters to participate in hands-on activities.

Wild Waterworks / Confederation Park near Hamilton, ON has two six-story waterslides, a wave pool, a children's pool and an action river ride as well as picnic facilities, locker rooms, tube rentals and food are available.
