Although the Eastern United States has not traditionally been known as the center of the winemaking world, a number of regions have been making very positive strides in the quality of their wines.  Located between Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington, the Brandywine Valley is one such area.  Despite not having very many wineries, this area is still an excellent destination for a weekend trip or for a stop while on vacation due to its proximity to the East Coast Corridor and abundant restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and tourist destinations.

The Valley is blend of natural beauty and man-made art.  This "châteaux country" north of Wilmington, DE is the home of the DuPont family's numerous estates as well as the artist community with the likes of the Pyle and Wyeth families.  With the historical significance from the Revolutionary War, the Brandywine Valley offers a wide variety of things to do and see
