The fact that the wine regions of the United States don't necessarily have the distinctive characteristics that you would find in Europe (i.e. each region doesn't have distinct characteristic that is identifiably unique) actually makes them all the more exciting.
Although the principal wine regions are obviously located on the West Coast, every single state in the Union now has at least one winery. With legitimate wine regions spring up within a couple of hours driving time from cities like New York and Washington, it is no longer necessary to travel to the West Coast to experience a wine region. Click on the region below that you are interested in exploring.
